Custom WordPress
Website Design

For Creatives, Artists, and Small Business Owners

Handcrafted Divi
WordPress Websites

I am a freelance web designer based in Seattle, Washington. I create custom WordPress websites using the Divi platform. I love helping artists, craftspeople, and small business owners create a professional, easy to maintain online presence.

The idea of creating and maintaining a website can be intimidating, but it really doesn’t have to be complicated. As a website designer for small businesses, I work exclusively with WordPress. It is powerful and easy to understand with a minimal learning curve.

Why A WordPress Site

A successful website needs to look great and set your company apart. It also needs to provide a path to turn visitors into customers. I will work closely with you to create a WordPress site that highlights the benefits of your product or service and drives visitors to become customers.

As a freelance web designer, I’m often asked, “Why should I use WordPress?” Clients with an existing site question why they should switch to WordPress from another platform.

WordPress has evolved from what was once a simple blogging tool into a powerful website builder and content management system (CMS). It is still easy to use and flexible enough to make just about any type of website you can imagine.

In fact, WordPress is so powerful and diverse that it powers more than 30% of all websites. Many top brands like Facebook, Sony, Target, and Time Magazine use it to power their websites.

WordPress Is Easy To Use.
Really Easy.

Before WordPress became a popular CMS for website development, it was developed for non-tech savvy bloggers. So most of the user-interface components are easy to use. I handle all the complexities of setting up and customizing your website; all you have to do is to update the content on pages, posts, widgets, etc.

WordPress Is Affordable.
As in Free.

Okay, so no WordPress website designer is going to create an amazing website for you for free. But WordPress itself is open source software that is free to download and use for running your website.

I use WordPress as the CMS and the Divi framework to create a custom website built with your customers and your business goals in mind. That means you can have a custom site at a very affordable price.

How Much Does A New Website Cost?

There is a big difference between a one-page restaurant menu site and an eCommerce website selling products online. While it all depends on the website, the cost of my creating a custom website is usually between $1,000 and $5,000. I will work with you to find a solution to fit your budget and ensure that there are no hidden costs.

Compare the long term investment of creating your custom website with WordPress to a service like Shopify and you’ll see the savings benefit.

A standard Shopify plan cost $79 per month. Plus you will likely decide you need some of their add-ons. You are looking at roughly another $150 a month for the basics (similar to what is included with Woocommerce, the ecommerce solution most used with WordPress). That works out to about $245 per month or $2,940 per year.

With WordPress, after the initial investment of having your custom site developed, the only things you continue to pay for are your domain and hosting which are annual fixed costs. Depending on the hosting plan you choose, you are looking at less that $100 per year.

What Sounds Better To You?

$3,000 every year for a site that you have limited control of
OR
$3,000 the first year, then $100 every year after that for a custom site design you control.

How Is Payment Handled?

For new projects I require a 50% deposit to secure my time. Once the design is finalized I ask for another 25% to continue with development. Upon completion (including training and launch of the site) the remaining 25% is due.

If changes are desired beyond the original scope of the agreement I will bill at an hourly rate in 1/2 hour increments. If you desire additional training or support after the site launch I have an hourly rate for support with a two-hour minimum.

Todd is one of the very best at what he does, but perhaps even more importantly, he brings out the very best in others.
